Eyewear measurements usually appear as three numbers in millimeters: lens width, bridge width, and temple length. For example, 52–20–145 means a 52 mm lens width, a 20 mm bridge, and 145 mm temples.

These measurements often appear inside the temple arm or on the product page. A pair that already fits well offers a useful starting point for comparison.

Lens width affects the scale of the frame across your face. Smaller widths tend to feel more compact; larger widths offer broader coverage and a stronger presence.

Bridge width affects how the frame rests on your nose. A bridge that is too narrow may pinch, while one that is too wide may allow the frame to slip. Isolde and Kundry include adjustable metal nose pads.

Temple length describes how the frame extends over and behind the ears. Temples that are too short may create pressure; those that are too long may feel less stable.

A frame should stay secure as you move, rest naturally on the nose, and feel comfortable at the temples and behind the ears. The lenses should align comfortably with your eyes, with an overall width that feels balanced.

Frequent slipping, pressure, or the need for repeated adjustments can indicate that the fit is not ideal.

Face shape can help guide your choice. Oval faces often suit a broad range of silhouettes. Round faces may benefit from more structured lines, while square faces may work well with softer curves.

Heart-shaped and triangular faces often suit visually balanced frames that are less heavy across the brow. Treat these as starting points; your style and comfort matter just as much.

For city wear, consider a balanced frame that moves easily between work, travel, and everyday life. For driving, prioritize visual comfort, a stable fit, and suitable lenses.

Travel, coastal settings, and strong sunlight may call for greater coverage and more glare management. The right frame should feel comfortable in the places you spend time.
